Vin de Bruno: Tome II

                                      Bergerac AOC 2014

Origin: On limestone and clay soils from the plateau dominating the Dordogne Valley. The vineyards are mainly facing south-west, therefore have an optimal sun exposure.

Harvest: Mechanical in order to harvest during the night, when the cold air protects our healthy grapes from starting fermentation.

Grape varieties: Merlot 80%, Cabernet Sauvignon 20%

Winemaking: We respect both the tradition and modern technologies: temperature control, reasonable extraction of tannins and colour, very detailed and specific tastings throughout the whole process.

Ageing: This wine is aged in French oak barrels for ten months. The attention to its evolution and the regular rackings are the base of a balanced and soft wine.

Ageing potential: This wine is good to drink now but can wait 2 to 3 years to reveal its great complexity.

Tasting notes: This wine has an intense ruby colour. On the nose, it offers red fresh fruits with delicate aromas of plum, blackberry and biscuit. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and offers chewy tannins giving this wine good texture and body. In terms of flavors, we have fresh red berries with a touch of vanilla. The finish is fresh, with a spicy note. The best match with food is to drink this wine with friends with some good charcuteries, meat, cheese or even desserts!

Dear Martin!
Thanks for the info of a new Bruno wine. Do you know where to buy it here in Germany? I've seen there's a pdf file attached but cannot open it here on my mobile - why ever... maybe there's some more information.

by the way; how far is the next Bruno novel?

If you ask for Cuvee Bruno in German bookshops, we have arranged a special discount through booksellers. You can contact jds@orange.fr or Diogenes to learn of special offers. I think Jack's Wine Store is a main retailer in Germany.

Es gibt einen kleinen Weinhandel mit Namen Vinami in Viersen-Boisheim, Kapellenstr. 10.
Dort bekommt man den neuen Bruno - Tome II und weitere nette Tropfen aus dem Perigord.

So, dear Martin,
what's about the new Bruno novel?
I had to start to read the novels from the beginning and just startet the Dark vineyard today.

A new one comes out each summer -- the most recent is A Taste for Vengeance, published in June.

The latest, A Taste for Vengeance, was published in the UK yesterday -- it may also be available in your territory, if you're not UK based...

Just finished A Taste for Vengeance - I was first or close on the hold list at my public library in Massachusetts. Thank you for a compelling read, and for a great laugh (in public on the bus) at “Mangeons bonbons de la patrie”. I hope we get to hear more about Paulette’s success at the national level.

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Being moved to laugh on a public bus is a wonderful compliment.

I enjoy mysteries, France, the countryside, Paris, horses and dogs, art,
wine, cooking and gardening, so your Bruno books are favorites to be enjoyed over and over. My only compliant would be that I can read faster than you can write!
So sorry to hear your Benson has died. In honor of Benson, I have a small piece of art that I believe you and your wife would enjoy having that I would like to give to you as a thank you for all the hours of enjoyment you've given me.
If you still have a place in D.C. I could send it there, if not, I could send
it to you in France. Just need an address.
Don't worry, it is neither tacky, nor does it come with any strings.
Please contact me by the above email address. Thank you.
Best regards,
Dee

In record time I just finished reading “a taste for vengeance” in hardback. It was the perfect thing, as I was trapped in hospital waiting rooms for many hours this week. (My daughter will be fine, thank you.) It was comforting to be around the many familiar Bruno friends who I have come to know over the course of eleven books. It was a marvelous read and the pacing was brisk. I always learn things from Bruno’s adventures. Reading a new Bruno book every summer is truly a tradition of mine. Thanks and best wishes.

Is the cookbook available in the US? I haven't been able to find it.
Thank you.

It's available globally through online retailers, but only in German I'm afraid.
