Earlier this month I was honoured to be named Grand Consul de la Vinee de Bergerac, the one of the first foreigners to receiver such an honour in the centuries since the organisation - historically responsible for the quality of Bergerac wines - was formed.

Wow! What an honor to receive such a reward in a region known for its cuisine and wine. Having lived in France for five years and travelling there many times each year, I understand the challenge of being accepted into ranks of your neighbors, not to mention the professional organizations.

I look forward to this March and April when I will be in residence in the Dordogne where I can taste the wonderful foods and ingredients the region offers.

Thanks,
Bob

I was astounded to be recognised. It was a wonderful surprise; I'd been told to save the date but didn't know for what.

I hope you enjoy your spring in the Perigord!

I am a huge fan of Bruno thanks to Murder By the Book in Houston. I recently convinced my husband to read the books and he is on #3 right now. Been married 16 years and he has not once offered to cook something for dinner during the week. However, tonight, I came home from work tonight and he was all set to make a yummy fish dish. I really thought he had been in an accident or something because this is so out of character. I even took a photo because no one would ever believe me. Bruno is his inspiration. Thank you so much for creating something so delightful and inspiring.

That's wonderful! I can't tell you how delighted I am that Bruno has inspired someone to cook - food is love, family, history...

Thank you for passing that on, as you've really made my day.

I heard your interview on NPR. Immediately bought the first book of the series. Most impressed with the fact you have a basset hound. Please consider joining a delightful global group on Facebook "Wonderful World of Basset Hounds"Awaiting your cookbook as well.

Thank you for the FB basset tip! My daughters never stop sending me photos and videos of bassets that they find while trawling the internet on bad days. Nothing is as cheering as that particular combination of ears, wrinkles, and piano-stool paws.
