He and his parents run a great B&B called Le Ferme de Tayac. So tonight I'm making an omelette with goose eggs and wild garlic leaves, taken from the finest array of the stuff I've ever seen.
A glorious stroll today through little-known parts of the Vezere valley, through fields of wild garlic and amazing rock formations with Paul of walkingdordogne.com (his photos are terrific).

We are travelling to the Dordogne on May 4th. Wish St. Denis existed so we coud visit! Knowing this my brother gave a copy of Bruno Chief of Police for Christmas. I loved the book and am now most of the way through the 4th in the series, "The Crowded Grave". The combination of character, plot, food, wine, scenery etc.is a realwinner.

Be careful, Rick. It is a slippery slope. I've got eight Bruno adventures lined up on my bookshelf and I'm breathlessly waiting for #9 in June.

I have read your Bruno books from ther first to the Devil's Cave and am staryong Resistance Man. I am throuoghly enjoying Bruno and his various activities in life: cooking, women, town politics, and, of course, policed interactions. My wife and I found your first book at a 'reading' in Toronto last November an have had fun with Bruno every since. Thank you. Thank you also as we have had two enjoyable visits to Fonfournel, Tursac, in Les Eyzies, and drove over much of the country from Bordeaux to Sarlat ... wonderful! Is St. Denis built on Le Bugue? So much of your writing brings this regional town to memory. Again, our deepest appreciation for your stories ... and your writing.
